Artisans invited to apply for Laudholm Nature Crafts Festival

January 13, 2010 By Scott Richardson Filed under News Release Tags: artisanscrafts festival

Laudholm Trust announces that application materials are now available for the twenty-third Laudholm Nature Crafts Festival, a highly respected show to be held September 11 and 12 at the stunning Wells Reserve at Laudholm on Maine’s southwestern coast.

The Laudholm Nature Crafts Festival boasts 100 of New England’s finest artists and craftspeople in a spectacular historic setting. Sculpture, pottery, paintings, clothing, jewelry, and photography are among the crafts selected by jury for this prestigious event.

The world of nature is the unifying theme of the festival. Laudholm Trust recognizes that some crafts are not conducive to having a nature theme, so they will not automatically be excluded from the show. Originality, freshness, and display quality are key criteria used by the festival’s jury.

Proceeds benefit research, education, stewardship, and preservation at the 2,250-acre Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve, which is home to the festival.

Information and applications are available at www.laudholm.org or by calling 207-646-4521. Applications must be received by March 16.
