Twelve AmeriCorps*NCCC volunteers are currently participating in salt marsh assessment and other projects at the Wells Reserve and throughout southern Maine. This is month three of their ten-month service agreement with AmeriCorps*NCCC during which they will be involved in four projects across the country.

Sarah, a recent college graduate, and an AmeriCorps*NCCC volunteer from Oklahoma spoke fondly of her experiences to date:

I’d do this forever if I could.

Kevin, a recent high school graduate from Rhode Island, was sitting with Sarah in the shade near the Laudholm farmhouse during their lunch break today.

Each volunteer is between 18 and 24. They reside in states all over the country. They arrived here in late April and will be living at the newly completed Alheim Commons until June 2.
