Trail Mapping with GPS & Google Earth
Associated People Susan Bickford
Cold and windy May weather does not deter our participants from learning how to use GPS to create trail maps in Google Earth.

Participants first learned how to design and plan for trail mapping and then learned how to take waypoints, lines, and tracks with GPS. Afterwards everyone braved the cold wind and mapped trails! We were able to download our waypoints and tracks with DNR Garmin (a free software) into Google Earth. This is a very exciting and affordable way to share trails with one another!

Many thanks to Shane Bradt and the UNH Cooperative Extension for sharing their computers, GPS, and instructor!
