NOAA Administrator talks oceans on e360

The alphabet soup that leads from the Wells Reserve to NERRS to OCRM to NOS to NOAA has a new cook stirring the pot and she was interviewed this month for Yale Environment 360.

Dr. Jane Lubchenco, NOAA Administrator, discussed several major topics in the lengthy interview. It was good to read her emphasis on coastal issues as she wrapped up the session...

Part of my goal is to have healthy, productive, resilient ecosystems along our coastal margins and in the open ocean, in support of healthy, productive, and resilient coastal communities. And so achieving those goals definitely requires addressing climate change, ocean acidification, and the fisheries issues, but it's much broader than just those.
