Our faithful workhorse, the Red Truck, has contracted a limiting disease called "Site Bound." Due to age and deterioration, Red Truck is no longer able to pass the Maine State inspection and therefore MUST not be used off site. Legally it cannot even make the trip to the Alheim. We will continue to use Red Truck for on-site work only — collecting brush, transporting lumber for boardwalk repair, and the like — until its well deserved final rest.
We are looking for the donation of a full-size pickup to fill the Red Truck's important role.
This wish goes back a ways. Laudholm Trust's first president requested it, and followed up once or twice in letters to members. The Trust deeply appreciates all of its many kind donors — some of whom have been very generous — but we have yet to receive a million dollars "in one clump" (as bookkeeper Karen might say).
