Site Conservation Planning Seminar Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm
Thursday, November 1, and Friday, November 2, 2001
Site Conservation Planning
Site Conservation Planning (SCP) is a methodology developed by The Nature Conservancy to determine the appropriate, strategic actions at conservation sites. The SCP process is effective because it focuses action on the most important conservation issues at a site and maximizes success by taking an ecosystem and human context approach to conservation. The SCP process includes identifying the primary targets for conservation and developing strategies to abate the threats. While primarily developed for biological targets, the SCP process has worked for historic structures, view-sheds, and recreation areas. This two-day seminar for advanced, land conservation practitioners, will take participants through the SCP process with a real site in an interactive and accelerated learning framework. Be prepared for outdoor field work.
