CERULLO TALKS ABOUT SEA CREATURES AT WELLS RESERVE

WELLS, MAINE ‐ On Thursday, June 24 at 7 pm, author and naturalist Mary Cerullo will reveal the truth about sharks and other "dangerous" sea creatures in a talk at the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve, 342 Laudholm Farm Road in Wells. Cerullo will illustrate her talk with images by award-winning photographer Bill Curtsinger. The talk is free, but donations are accepted. Please bring a mug for free organic coffee or tea.

Cerullo's interviews with scientists, scholarly research, and first-hand experiences have helped her to understand that sharks, stingrays, moray eels, spiny sea urchins, and other so-called dangerous sea creatures do not always live up to their poor reputations.

Mary Cerullo is an award-winning children's science writer and the author of many books, including The Ocean Detectives and The Truth About Great White Sharks. She is also the director of Friends of Casco Bay.

The Wells NERR lecture series continues on the fourth Thursday of every month through October. Next month: Sea Turtles in Maine.

The Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve, with facilities at historic Laudholm Farm, is committed to investigating coastal environments and increasing understanding of their ecology.
