Preservation
The drive to save Laudholm Farm from development resulted in the establishment of the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve. The Wells Reserve now uses the historic site as a platform for research, education, and stewardship, maintaining more than a dozen historic structures for present-day and future uses.
Protection
The Wells Reserve manages 2,250 acres of coastal habitat in concert with its partners. The Wells Reserve is involved throughout southern Maine in efforts to develop conservation strategies, protect natural resources, and implement the best options for permanently conserving land.
