Docent Training: Wild Friends in Wild Places

Tuesday, April 11, 2017, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm View more Events

Enjoy wildlife, trail time and working with younger students? Join us to learn how to lead this exciting grades K-2 school program all about Maine wildlife! This program comes in two parts: live animal presentation and trail time. Center for Wildlife staff bring non-releasable rehabilitated animals to teach about native wildlife. Students then venture onto the Wells Reserve trails with us to explore animal habitats. Training will cover some basic wildlife ecology and the trail portion of the program. Please dress for the weather/trails.  Meet in the Teaching Lab in the Maine Coastal Ecology Center.

Pre-registration is required. Please contact Caryn Beiter. Phone: (207) 646-1555 x 110, Email:

Program Specifics: Grades K – 2nd, Duration 3 hours (trail time 1.5hrs), Group Size 15 student maximum.
