Kat comes to us with a strong background in grant writing, communications, and development for conservation, research and education. She previously worked at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, Maine Farmland Trust, and the University of Southern Maine Foundation. Kat holds degrees in English and History from Amherst College, and a Master's in Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University.
Kat lives on the Saco River in Buxton with her partner Brian and two cats. She spends most of her free time on the water or in the woods, as well as enjoying Maine farms, food, and beer.
What is your choice of mascot for Wells Reserve and why?
I would choose the red fox - beautiful, joyful, crafty, quiet, and resilient.
What is your favorite place at Wells Reserve?
Barrier Beach Trail is a great way to see ocean, woods, and field as well as signs of Laudholm's agricultural history.
