Two New Story Walks for Summer

Posted by | July 1, 2021 | Filed under: Program Activities

Just in time for the Summer Solstice, Vulture Verses: Love Poems for the Unloved was installed on the Saw-whet Owl Trail, winding through woods and fields to an overlook of the Little River. Our education team loves this children's book! It highlights the virtues of many often unappreciated members of the animal kingdom, such as skunks and bats and cockroaches. The poems on each page rhyme and are accompanied by whimsical, colorful illustrations. It's a gem!

And just today, I hopped into the Reserve's golf cart and hung the pages of Save the Planet with Sunsquatch on tree branches along the Barrier Beach Trail, which leads to Laudholm Beach. ReVision Energy created this super informative, fun, kid-friendly story that follows Sunsquatch on their mission to create a better world with solar energy. On your way back from reading this story, stop by the reception desk in our Visitor Center to pick up a Sunsquatch activity book, courtesy of ReVision Energy (while supplies last). You can also download a black and white copy.
