How and why does a Maine TV producer take his wife and two teenage children on a six-month volunteer adventure around the globe? John Marshall shares stories from the road and explains how he became an orphan advocate, fighting for orphaned children worldwide.

John Marshall is a nine-time Emmy Award-winning TV Producer and writer, as well as the author of the critically-acclaimed Random House memoir “Wide-Open World” about the six months he and his family volunteered their way around the globe. In addition to his creative projects, John now works on behalf of orphaned children worldwide, drawing attention to their story and fundraising millions of dollars to make life a little better, one child at a time. He currently divides his time between Maine and the Good Shepherd Agricultural Mission, a large Indian orphanage in North India.
