Studying the behavior of marine animals in their natural habitat can be a challenge due to the difficulty of observing them underwater. An array of technologies have been used to overcome these hurdles, including some currently under development at the Wells Reserve. Postdoctoral Research Fellow Dr. Ben Gutzler discusses some of the ways researchers can learn about what it is that marine animals actually do all day, along with the benefits and challenges associated with each.
