Milkweed is the home and food of monarch eggs and caterpillars. But when you turn over a leaf you'll find all sorts of wildlife, from milkweed beetles to snails!
We will start out on campus learning about monarchs, migration and other creatures we might find and then head down the trail to our milkweed investigation location!
Our adventure will include time on the trail and in the field. Bug and sun protection are highly recommended. In addition, long pants and long sleeves are also very helpful in enjoyment of our outdoor programs.
The Wells Reserve operates in accordance with orders from the Governor of Maine and instructions from the Maine Center for Disease Control. Reserve leadership will monitor, evaluate, and adapt as needed to ensure all programs operate safely and effectively. Please have a mask on hand if you are not vaccinated and/or feel safer being masked in a group setting.
