On October 20, moon rise is at 6:08pm, and sunset is at 5:50pm. Join Maine Master Naturalist Linda Littlefield Grenfell to watch the sunset from one of the highest points in Wells, then meander to the beach to watch the moon rise. Come experience the Reserve at night, listening for owls and other wildlife. The October Moon was often called the Hunter's Moon, the Travel Moon, or the Dying Moon, as well as other names. Discover moon lure, poems and stories, and spend time quietly communing. We will gather in a gratitude circle on the beach before returning to the parking lot. This is a great family experience for those who can enjoy the quiet. Rain date: Thursday, October 21.

The Wells Reserve operates in accordance with orders from the Governor of Maine and instructions from the Maine Center for Disease Control. Reserve leadership will monitor, evaluate, and adapt as needed to ensure all programs operate safely and effectively. Please have a mask on hand if you are not vaccinated and/or feel safer being masked in a group setting.

Please note: Program fee does not include site admission fee.
