Celebrate the reemergence of spring with chamber music by composers of color and queer composers connecting new sounds, the environment, and the community.

Vigorous Tenderness is an immersive outdoor concert series that amplifies marginalized voices in classical music and democratizes new / experimental music. This vernal equinox event resembles an art museum experience, with chamber music blooming throughout the landscape while the audience follows a path of listening and reflection.

Please arrive between 5:30 and 6:15pm and move through the installation at your own pace. Bundle up, wear boots, and consider bringing traction if it’s icy.

People of all ages are welcome; this is a family friendly event.

Featuring

A world premiere in collaboration with the Burnurwubskek Singers, a drumming and vocal group representing the Wabanaki nations of Maine.

Accessibility

This concert involves moving over uneven ground, navigating some wide trails without much elevation change, and visiting musical sites up to ½-mile from the parking lot. Some paths are paved and others may be soft/muddy/hard packed/frozen based on weather. For more information about accessibility and trail conditions, please reach out to vigorous.tenderness@gmail.com.
