This event is handicap accessibleLooking for company while experiencing the 2017 solar eclipse? We can't all be on the path of totality, but we can still get together where the sky is wide and socialize.
Here in Wells, NASA calculates that, at peak, 60% of the Sun's area will be obscured by the Moon. The effect is not expected to be strong — something like adding clouds to the sky — but that's what we'll be gathering to experience.
And if real clouds gather, it will still likely be a nice day to visit so come on up!
Solar Events at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm | Time |
---|---|
Start of Partial Eclipse | 1:29pm |
Maximum Eclipse (60%) | 2:46pm |
End of Partial Eclipse | 3:58pm |
Please Note
It is not safe to look directly at the Sun without eye protection. We do not have a supply of solar viewing glasses (we tried, but our sources dried up). We will use other methods to track the progress of the eclipse.
