White Admiral / Red-spotted Purple

Intergrades in a hybrid zone.

Gorgeous pure, gorgeous as intergrades.

Whether two species or two forms of the same species, the white admiral and red-spotted purple (Limenitis arthemis) are striking butterflies. Both forms (or intergrades resembling each) have been observed at the Wells Reserve, but are uncommon.
