Do you CLYNK?

ComposterWe host a lot of visitors each year. We hold a lot of events. This is great because it means that people love coming to this place and enjoying all it has to offer. It also means that we inherit some amount of waste in the form of drink bottles, and we don't mind at all. Our visitors are staying hydrated (which means they will hopefully be back again), and we can take those bottles and turn them into sustainable improvements around the Reserve like solar panels, compost bins, and better signs for trash and recycling locations on campus.

CLYNK BagsThis is made possible by the CLYNK Program. If you are from Maine and you shop at Hannaford grocery stores you probably already know how CLYNK bottle return works. Place your washed returnable bottle in a green CLYNK bag, slap on your barcoded sticker that identifies the bottles as yours, drop the bags off, and count your cash! The Wells Reserve has been doing this for a few years now and it is generating a small amount of revenue that helps us keep reducing our footprint on the Earth.

As it turns out, this is also a really easy way for people who love the Reserve to support these sustainable initiatives. How you ask? It's simple. Just let us know that you would like to donate your bottles to the Wells Reserve, and we will give you our stickers. When you drop off your bottles the CLYNK program will then credit our account. It's that easy.

Let us know if you want to help. To get your stickers:

  • Stop by and ask the Visitor Center receptionist for CLYNK stickers
  • Call 207-646-1555 ext 112
  • Email jacobaman@wellsnerr.org

Thank You!
