Forest interpretive signs put into place today
Four large signs and several smaller ones were installed along the Saw-whet Owl and Farley trails this morning, setting the stage for Earth Day's dedication of the new Forest Learning Shelter.
The interpretive signs illustrate forest succession, wildlife uses of forests, and the importance of forests along waterways. The shelter and signs were designed and constructed with support from the Maine TREE Foundation and Project Learning Tree, the Morton-Kelly Charitable Trust, and the Virginia Hodgkins Somers Foundation.
The dedication ceremony will be at 11 am on April 22.
