Potholes Begone!

Posted by | September 21, 2018 | Filed under: Observations

It was getting pretty ugly out there. New England's notorious frost heaves have taken their toll on paved surfaces around the Laudholm campus. In some spots, the potholes got to be downright dangerous.

With a scant few weeks to go before the crafts festival, we called in a rescue squad from Ruck Paving. At $6 a square foot, they filled and smoothed $20,000 worth of cracks, splits, and divots. They were in and out in just a few hours. After curing for a couple of days, the asphalt was ready to take a load.

The crafts festival went smoothly. Though we hosted 5,000 visitors, we kept toes from tripping and ankles from twisting.

It's thanks to donations from our members and supporters that we are able to take such essential steps for safety. But here, there’s always more to be done.

Donate? You bet your asphalt I'll donate!
